This Prairie style home is in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Built on property that’s been in the family for generations, conserving as many mature trees as possible was top priority for these clients. Prairie style architecture was chosen to reflect and pay homage to the surrounding environment. Walls of windows throughout let the light shine in and provide expansive views of the lake. Even the staircase has an open design so it doesn’t obstruct the view.

Zen Room
The Zen room was inspired by the family’s visit to Japan and realized by RMH. This Japanese bath is a retreat for the end of the day, where the tension, work, muscle pain, and brain clutter all soak away to complete relaxation. An important feature is the shoji door. Like curtains, shoji give visual privacy, but they do not block sounds. Shoji are also thought to encourage a home's inhabitants to speak and move softly, calmly, and gracefully. The Zen room includes a separate shower to cleanse the body of dirt from the day before climbing into the tub with sparkling hot, clean water. There is nothing like it to prepare the body, mind, and spirit for a restful night.
